The photograph above of one of my Cyathea medullaris was taken last winter on 16th January 2009. The crozier you can see emerging from its crown subsequently rotted. I recorded -3C last winter but it may have been even colder in places, or warmer of course.
The same plant is pictured below on 17th August 2009, showing how it has recovered so far. The fronds are still quite a bit smaller than they were, but it`s getting there.
