Dicksonia antarctica - soft tree fern, man fern, Tasmanian tree fern
Dicksonia antarctica is, without a doubt, the best known and most commonly cultivated of all the tree ferns, grown for its great beauty and cold hardiness. Native to Australia and Tasmania. Trunk development is quite slow, about 1" a year, potentially attaining a great height. It produces spores at the age of about 20 years. Hardy to about -7C lower with protection.
