Dicksonia fibrosa - kuripaka, weki-ponga

A beautiful and easy to grow species from New Zealand, where part of its range is formidably cold. It
can form a massive, fibrous trunk up to about 18'. Smaller than Dicksonia antarctica but probably on
a par as far as hardiness goes. New fronds tend to unfurl in flushes and are 5-7' long. Pinnule segments
have upturned margins making the upper surface of the frond feel rough to the touch. Dead fronds hang
down forming a thick skirt about the trunk.
